It’s been ONE YEAR since we became a 501(c)3 and hit the ground running – designing sustainable programs that empower the community of San Marcos la Laguna.
2018 was a big first year for us:
- We fed 55,000 eggs to 385 students,
- We launched the Community Hen Farm with over 100 hens, and
- We hired our first local Mayan farm employees.
And all this was accomplished with under $10,000 from 100+ donors and 7 volunteer staff. Thank you again, to our AWESOME donors and volunteers, whose support continues to feed and empower the children of San Marcos.
We will feed 5X more kids in 2019!
We are thrilled to be expanding to One Egg a Day / Un Huevo al Dia Nutrition Program to feed 5X more kids in 2019! When school resumes in January, we will be feeding roughly 2,100 students across 4 schools in San Marcos and San Pablo, the town next door. San Pablo is much larger than San Marcos, but with less tourism and job opportunities.
